TransData is ShareWare. The ShareWare fee is $10. Unregistered copies of TransData will only process a limited number of records. Chapter 2 contains an order form you can mail in.
TransData‚Ñ¢ translates data from one format to another, including fixed-length records. TransData can changes all upper case to upper & lower, eliminate duplicate records, and perform other data conversions. The simplest way to learn it is to use it.
Have you had the need to convert a comma delimited file to tab delimited so your database program can use it? Have you ever downloaded a fixed length file from a mainframe computer, and not know what to do with it? With TransData, you can have these and other non-standard formats changed into a more standardized format. Virtually every database program can import tab delimited records. Some, such as Microsoft Excel, can import comma delimited records. But if you don't own Excel, what do you do? Translate the data from comma delimted to tab delimited with TransData.

Note: TransData‚Ñ¢ reads and writes ASCII (text-only) data files. Many, if not all, database applications have the ability to read, write, import, and export ASCII files.
